How Does the SkinPenWork?
The SkinPenrenews skin cells by using a process called collagen induction therapy (CIT). This process employs the use of fine medical-grade painless needles which are rolled over the skin, causing microchannels, or pores, to temporarily open. When the pores are open, the body’s natural healing process begins to heal the pores, thereby stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.
The production of collagen and elastin helps to thicken your skin, eliminate wrinkles and smooth away fine lines and hyperpigmentations.
About one to two hours after a SkinPenmicroneedling treatment, the microchannels will close, thanks to the body’s own natural healing process, allowing enough time for new collagen structures to form within the skin’s lower layers. Patients are then able to resume their normal activities.
What Makes the SkinPen® so effective?
As we age, our skin loses much of its absorption power. So often times, when patients use collagen creams to try and resurface their skin, the treatment is only targeting the top layer because collagen molecules are too large to penetrate it. This is why the SkinPenis much more effective than other skin care solutions.
By combining the use of the SkinPenwith a nourishing lotion, the large collagen molecules are allowed to penetrate through the top layer of skin and into the microchannels, repairing the skin from the inside out without damaging the skin’s surface. This eliminates common side effects often experienced from other treatments, such as chemical peels and laser resurfacing.
