What Is a Lower Body Lift?

If you have loose and sagging skin on your buttocks, thighs, or hips, Dr. Perlman may recommend a lower body lift as part of your individualized treatment plan. A lower body lift gives you a tight and toned lower body by removing excess skin and fat. After your lower body lift, you are able to feel confident and comfortable about your body, and the incisions are hidden by your clothing.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Lower Body Lift?

Dr. Perlman may recommend a lower body lift as part of your individualized treatment plan if you have:

  • Loose skin on your buttocks, thighs, hips, and abdomen
  • Thin layers of fat below the skin of these areas
  • Lost a significant amount of weight

You should also understand the extent and location of the scars that result from a lower body lift. Dr. Perlman carefully places incisions in locations that are typically hidden by clothing, generally in the region of your waist. You should also be at a healthy, stable weight and be a non-smoker.

What Is the Process for a Lower Body Lift?

For your lower body lift, a general anesthesia is administered to help you remain comfortable during the procedure. Typically, the incision begins on your back, and you will be turned during the procedure so that Dr. Perlman can address the loose skin on your hips and thighs. Once the incision is made, the excess skin is removed. The remaining skin is stretched, and the incision is closed with sutures.

What Does Recovery Entail After a Lower Body Lift?

The recovery for a lower body lift is extensive due to the nature of the procedure, and we are with you every step of the way. You wear special compression garments to help control swelling, and Dr. Perlman may prescribe pain medication and antibiotics. The sutures are typically removed after two weeks. You will be asked to walk regularly beginning the day after your lower body lift. You may resume your normal activities four to six weeks after your lower body lift.

How Much Does a Lower Body Lift Cost?

The cost associated with your lower body lift depends on the extent of the procedure that Dr. Perlman determines is necessary for the best possible outcome. After your consultation appointment with Dr. Perlman, we provide you with a detailed cost for your lower body lift. There are many ways to pay for your surgery. Visit our finance page to learn more.
